Should you invest your money on sterling jewellery? Many people are of the opinion that silver jewelry, aside from being something that one does not naturally take to as a jewellery of choice, does not really make for a sound investment. That is because fine silver jewellery is not that valuable as compared to gold chains and other fine jewellery pieces crafted from precious metals.

Still, this does not change the fact that sterling jewellery is growing in popularity nowadays. People who have a keen taste for class and a sharp nose for money are buying more and more silver jewelry. These people believe that buying sterling jewellery is a safe enough choice.

Silver Not as Valuable as Gold

It cannot be denied that silver is not as valuable as gold. In times of crisis, you will be able to cash in on your gold chains but not on your silver jewelry. Pawnshops and dealers of pre-owned jewellery are more willing to accept gold pieces. They will only take in silver pieces if it is a vintage item or is made by a popular jewellery crafter.

This should not stop you from buying sterling silver. For one, you can feel a lot safer walking down the street wearing sterling silver accessories than gold chains. Your chances of getting waylaid for your jewellery are lower if you are wearing silver than if you are wearing gold. Of course, this is not an excuse for you to wear too much when you are going out.

With silver jewellery, you can stay fashionable however you want at a lower cost. At the same time, because silver is a lot less expensive than gold, you can still have a bit of money saved over to invest on gold jewellery.

Fashion Timelessness with Silver

If you are the type who wants to stay in style all the time, it would not hurt for you to have a few pieces of sterling jewellery lying in your jewellery box. Silver jewellery never goes out of style, which is why they are so popular. Even the biggest names in the fashion industry and the hottest style icons in Europe and the United States advocate the use of wearing silver jewellery.

Why is silver considered so stylish? The answer to that lies in its versatility. It is possible for you to wear silver jewellery no matter what time of the day. You can accessorise casual outfits with silver for a touch of glamour. You can also lighten up sober office suits and put an elegant finish to an evening dress with silver. One popular style that goes well with silver jewellery is none other than the little black dress.

Moreover, sterling silver jewellery comes in many different designs and can be enhanced by precious and semi-precious stones to make it look more beautiful. The gemstones that look best with silver jewellery are jet, rose quartz, lapis lazuli and turquoise.

You can safely add a few pieces of sterling jewellery in your jewellery collection. You can use them to create a truly unique style without spending too much money. Also, the money you save on silver can be enough for you to invest in gold later on.
