Composite doors are a really good way of making
the appearance of your house look much improved. A composite door can
also be used as a back door as well as a front door, this is great if
you wanted to change the door on the front or back of your house.
There
are a number of different options available to you when you are
choosing your new composite door, such as the colour! The doors are
available in a whole range of colours, such as a black door, a red
composite door, a green composite door, a blue composite door or even a
natural colour such as light oak.
Along with these options there
are other things to think about when you are in the process of choosing
a new door, and these options are as follows: a choice of door
furniture colour (finishes) Gold, Black and Gold (brass) and these
colours of finishes are also available when you are choosing the other
options for your composite door such as an urn (knocker) .
An urn
(knocker) is not only available in the finishes that were mentioned
earlier, they are also available with an integrated spy hole. The spy
hole option is great if the door you have chosen has no glass, or the
glass option you have chosen cannot be seen through clearly. With the
spy hole in the door you can see who is at the other side of the door
without having to actually open it, which is great for security reasons.
Security is a very important factor to think about when you're considering a new front or back door. Most good composote doors come with a "SBD" as standard which stands for Secured by Design. A
door with Secured by Design fitted, is much more secure than other Upvc
doors or composite doors of a lower standard. A Secured by Design door
will come as standard with laminated glass and anti bump lock cylinders.
Laminated glass will make front doors much harder to break into, because the glass will not shatter as there
is a laminated sheet which is inserted in the glass itself and if
someone was to try and smash the glass, it would just crack into lots
of different pieces and the whole sheet would bend instead of there
being an open hole. As for anti-bump cylinders this stops the burglar
from using a method called bumping.
