The Black Walnut Tree has many functions The Black Walnut is a native nut tree of the eastern United States. The Black Walnuts have leaves that are compound or one to two feet long with up to 20 ovate leaflets. The Black Walnut leaves are thin which bright yellow on the upper side are and a lighter color below which is all turns yellow in the fall. The Black Walnut tree can be found all over the country from Florida to California and even sometimes found up in the northern climates such as Connecticut.

The Black Walnut grows well in full sun and tolerates wet soil, but does best in loose gravely soil. The Walnut tree grows to a massive height of up to 75 feet and can be up to 3-4 feet in diameter but some have been reported to grow up to 8 feet diameter.

Walnuts are used for a variety of things not just to eat. Many people grow the trees just for the nuts but can't seem to get them cracked, the trick of it is to dump them on the driveway and drive over them with a car this will break the shell and let you get into the nut faster.

The functions of black walnut trees are endless many use them to eat, gun stocks, cabinet making, veneer and more. The Black Walnuts are also a good source for deer, turkey and squirrel feed. The Black Walnut tree takes approximately 80 years to reach its fullest maturity and production.

The Black Walnut tree can be found in a variety of places and can be quite expensive ranging from 60.00 dollars and up.
