Scientific studies have an outstanding revelation: there's actually a direct relationship between pregnancy and fish oil.

Whether it's going to be good and bad, that's what you are going to find out. So you better read out.

The Naked Truth

Let's begin with the reality. Fish oil is very useful for pregnant and breast-feeding mothers, more so for the baby. This is because of the essential omega3 fatty acids that they contain, such as DHA and EPA.

In case you don't know yet, almost half of the brain of your baby is composed of DHA--that is, if you can really meet the requirements.

That's why you have to load yourself with such fatty acid to make sure that you can really encourage the proper development and function of his or her brain.

There are also researches that will tell you how DHA can help your baby cope with his or her environment the moment that he or she is born.

For one, he will be less susceptible to infection and allergic reactions. You can also prevent the development of ADHD and dyslexia, which is characterized as a learning deficiency. He or she will have difficulty reading and writing.

If these aren't enough, wait until you hear this. Your baby will have far better IQ than his or her other counterparts.

In fact, it will be as much as 10 points higher than the average IQ score. You can definitely have a miniature Einstein in your family.

What's more, you don't have to worry about his learning abilities, as he or she is sure to mark better in examinations. He or she will also be better memory and focus.

You too can also benefit from DHA. If you're scared of having post-partum blues, then you should take fish oil supplements.

DHA has properties that remove the common symptoms that are associated with depression. Experts would even tell you that they can also improve conditions of those who are suffering from bipolar disorder and Alzheimer's disease.

On the Downside

Here's something you should remember about fish oil, though. Recent researches show that fish can be contaminated with mercury, lead, and other toxic minerals. They could deem harmful to you and, most of all, to your baby.

Just to be on the safe side, go for pharmaceutical-grade fish oil. The oil is molecularly distilled intensively to remove such toxins, and what you're going to get is just pure fish oil, rich with omega3 fatty acids.
