Life is not a party. So then why party? We party to have fun and enjoy life. We party because having fun is what life's all about. Isn't that right? Yes and no! Yes, parties are fun and help us enjoy life, but no, parties are not what life's all about. As stated, life is often not a party. Sadly to many life can be a struggle to survive.

Life involves serious responsibilities. We work hard for an education to provide a foundation for us to obtain satisfying employment to provide for us and our families. Nonetheless, we may still face financial anxieties, challenges in raising children, stresses due to illness and even tragedies. Life is not always a bowl of cherries.

So then, where do parties come in? Some say parties are the spice of life, and they can be if we view the word "spice" as seasoning or flavoring. In food we do not eat the spices all by themselves. The concentration would be way too strong, and thus they would taste awful. However, such spices added in well measured doses can add a great deal to the flavor of our food. So it is with parties. Well planned parties can be a spice or flavoring that adds balance to our lives and thus they can help us cope with life's pressures.

This is not advocating a hedonistic life-style, living just to have fun, going from one fun event to another with little regard to being productive in life. It's not "eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die". That would be like eating concentrated spices. Nor is this advocating orgies or drunken revelries, or unrestrained partying so as to momentarily forget one's problems. That solves nothing. It only creates more anxieties as we have to deal with the aftermath.

Rather, experts say we are happiest when we are productive, when we make or accomplish things. It appears we are designed by our maker to gain the greatest satisfaction from life from doing worthwhile things. On the other hand being workaholics is not healthy either. The old saying, "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" is quite true. But not only can such a life style be dull, but it can also be downright unhealthy. So, in view of the many stresses and pressures we face in life we need to learn to relax and also enjoy each day as it comes. Here's where well planned parties can serve as a spice. They help us stop and enjoy the moment. They help us to lighten up. They give us a break from the pressures of life.

In addition such parties often provide unforgettable moments of fellowship and pleasure shared with those we love. Such special moments help us to forge and strengthen our bonds with our friends and loved ones. Building and enhancing relationships with others is a very important part of life. Well-planned parties can accomplish a great deal in this respect.

These well-planned, well-organized parties often contain unique features, sentimental moments and special magical touches. They display both charm and professionalism that produce what can be called magical parties, parties that will be remembered by both host and guests for many months, if not years to come. Therefore, parties of this sort are well worth the effort it takes to plan and host them. They add real joy to our lives while at the same time refreshing us to meet life's challenges.
