The answer is relatively simple; they are all to be found en masse on the Internet. Most are aware of the power of twitter now, as celebrities and mere civilians alike have become obsessed with the simple "tweet". Google meanwhile remains the most popular search engine by far (despite some interesting competition from the likes of Yahoo, Ask and MSN) and is the tool used to find all the people, topics and subjects that make the internet buzz with activity.
Britney Spears has been one of the most popular search references on the internet for years and any new news about Britney is constantly a big hit across the World Wide Web. I wonder how many times her name has been typed into the Google search bar?
Even Britney has some Google competition however, as in the last couple of years the net has gone Kardashian crazy! The
Kardashian sisters, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe have become search engine stalwarts thanks to their show "Keeping up with the Kardashians" and celebrity lifestyle. Pay a visit to Google Trends and you can usually find one or several references to these popular sisters somewhere in the top forty!
What else do people hunt down on the internet? Well, almost anything and everything of course, but one thing that will always be searched for is free stuff! Whether it is free pictures, free clip art, free movies or perhaps free tips and free advice, our human nature implores us to always be on the look out for something free. After all, it
is free, isn't it?
The latest news stories, large and small, local and international very often break on the internet before they hit our television screens, really underlining the power the internet has in most of our lives in this twenty first century. If you consider that all current events can either be found or searched for online doesn't that make the internet itself the biggest current event of them all?
