This treadmill guide will help you decide on purchasing the best treadmill and the best price. When people think of exercise equipment they usually think of a few things, treadmill, exercise bike and recently they now think of the elliptical machine. The reason behind this is because these are the most common and most effective when it comes to home exercise equipment. The exercise bike and treadmill are the two oldest pieces of equipment and they have stood the test of time. As with most successful things people try to make lesser quality products and sell them on the reputation of the success. This treadmill guide will sought through all the machines and provide you with the best. The treadmill is a pretty basic machine and you could say that they are all the same, but the fact is they aren’t. When buying a treadmill you have to look for quality. You need something that will provide you with the best possible workout and will indeed stand the test of time itself. How do you know what to look for? How do you know which brand is better than the next? How do you know if you’re getting a good deal for your money? How do you know it won’t break down in 6 months when the warranty runs out? How do you know it will protect your back, your joints and ligaments? Well this treadmill guide will provide you with enough information to make sure that you can feel secure about making a quality, sound treadmill investment. One important area to not overlook is the treadmill motor. This is what powers the treadmill so if the motor breaks down so does your treadmill. The treadmill motor is one of the most important elements of the treadmill because, firstly, it powers the treadmill, and secondly, it is the most costly treadmill item to fix. You need to have a treadmill with a high quality, high power motor or else you'll quickly burn the motor out. Motor power is measured by Horsepower (HP for short). Most treadmills range from 1.5 HP to 3.0 HP. There are 2 different motor power ratings when looking at treadmills: 1) The first is called Continuous Duty power (or CD HP for short). This is the power at which the treadmill can continually, steadily operate for 24 hours without slowing down. 2) The second power rating is called Peak Duty. This is the highest power at which the treadmill can potentially operate (but it cannot sustain this for long periods of time). Continuous Duty power is the most accurate way to measure motor power and that’s the one you should look at when purchasing a treadmill. Another important fact to keep in mind when buying a treadmill is the warranty. The warranty is important because it protects your investment and if something should go wrong you will be covered. A quality warranty will cover the frame for 5 years the motor for 2 and other parts and labour for 1 year. The Smooth 7.1 HR Power Folding Treadmill with Heart Rate Control has 10 year motor, 5 year deck/belt/roller, 3 year electronics and parts, 1 year service, lifetime frame The next important factor to consider is the treadmill belt. Having a quality belt is important because it can improve cushioning, protect your joints and extend the life of your treadmill by not putting as much stress on the motor.
