Shower curtains are necessary to prevent water from splashing on the walls and spilling on the floor of your bathroom. But just because they are necessary, it doesn't mean you can't have fun and experiment with different colors and designs. Look for a shower curtain that will suit your bathroom's decor and you'll be surprised how much character it can add to your room.

Curtains for your shower or bathtub usually come in a standard size, 70 inches by 72 inches. It's possible to find shower panels that are extra wide or extra long too which are sometimes needed for today's modern, larger tub styles. Just remember that it is better to have your shower panels too big than too small.

Today's shower panels are available in a multitude of colors, patterns, fabrics, and styles. Some curtains are very inexpensive and simplistic, while others are quite costly due to lavish fabrics or a designer label. If you have a particular color scheme for your bedroom, it is a good idea to let those same colors flow through to your ensuite including them in your bath and shower accessories.

Vinyl shower panels are great if you have kids, because they are waterproof and easy to clean. Kid's shower curtains come in bright and cheerful colors and designs ranging from cartoon characters to Barbies and toy trucks. Kids will love to have a shower or a bath when it's made fun for them.

A plastic shower liner is a good idea to prevent water stains from developing on your beautiful shower panels. The more expensive designer curtains usually come with a liner so you don't have to purchase one separately. Shower liners are quite cheap, usually a couple of dollars, so most people will throw out the old one once it gets dirty and buy a new one.
