Mukluks were originally created by the Inuit Eskimos many years ago. They were made with sealskin, fur, and reindeer hide. Through trade with other Indian tribes, the mukluk was soon being made using buckskin or caribou instead. Nowadays, some Natives are continuing to make these exceptional boots for all to enjoy.

A genuine handmade mukluk is made in many beautiful styles and colors. Some boots have fluffy pompoms along with extravagant beadwork on the toes and calves, while others are less fancy revealing more of the beautiful fur. Everyone has their own personal style, but rest assured there is a pair of mukluks out there to suit the taste of even the most discriminating fashion diva. The mukluk has moved into the forefront of fashion, pushing the ever popular Ugg boot into the shadows. Of course Uggs are quite different from the mucklucks and will continue to sell because of that fact. You will find celebrities like Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Liv Tyler, and many more sporting these wonderful muckluck boots.

You can find the lower priced knock-off mukluks that are very affordable and look quite nice, like the Steve Madden Iglou boot. But the authentic hand made mukluk boots are truly spectacular and can run anywhere from $200.00 to $500.00. The internet is the best place to shop for your mukluks as they are hard to find anywhere else. Get yours, and get in style!!
