So we are now working on the 6th generation of the iPod with more advancements being made every time a new one comes out obviously or coming out with a new one would be unnecessary. They started out as simple mp3 players with black and white screens, a little heavy and cumbersome but nevertheless more convenient than the conventional discman.
Then came more models the click wheel changed, it came with a dock connector, then color display, and then the infamous iPod mini was released and everyone raced to buy the new small version of the iPod that came in varying colors. I remember when my friends at college got this one and everyone felt very cool and on the edge for about two years, until the release of the nano. Now the 6th generation of iPod has been released and everyone has been scrambling to get on of those.
This 6th generation of iPod also includes the new video iPod which allows you to download music videos and TV shows to watch on your iPod when you are on the go. The large iPod and the nano both allow picture downloads and both now have games.
As successful as the iPod has been I can not see Apple discontinuing it or ceasing to improve it any time soon. It makes me wonder what is in store for the next generation for iPod. Right now you can hook the iPod up to your digital camera to download your pictures on to it. I wouldn't be surprise if soon there was an iPod that actually was a camera. There must be an endless supply of nifty little gadgets and capabilities that can be added on to the iPod, it makes me wonder if 20 years from now my kids are going to look at my old iPod that has been stored in a box for some time, and make fun of me for how antiquated and simple it is.
