Moving a priced vehicle is never a simple job. An open auto transport trailer is just not enough – after all, you don’t want your car to be exposed to the elements. So don’t scrimp and use enclosed auto transport trailers instead. These kinds of trailer are much more secure and can protect your car from exposure during transport.

Enclosed trailers are usually custom-built trucks that are hard sided and fully enclosed. This way, your vehicle is completely protected from external hazards such as dirt, dust, rocks, and weather elements.

Newer enclosed trailers usually feature hydraulic lift gates so that your car remains horizontal while loading. Hydraulic lift gates work like elevators, so your car can remain totally level all through the loading and unloading process. In cases when the loading surface is uneven, the lift gate can be inclined to guarantee a smooth and level loading. Most enclosed auto transport trailers also have oversized ramp gates for loading longer vehicles (like fire engines or limousines, for example). Most trailers are well-lit trailers both on the inside and outside; they have halogen lighting and skylights to help load vehicles safely even at night.

Aside from these basics, most enclosed auto transport trailers also have excellent suspension and air-ride cushions that minimize vibrations. They also usually have floor mats and seat covers for additional protection. And best of all, trailers also have on-board satellite tracking systems so that you can track where your prized car is, every step of the way.

Be sure to trust only reliable auto transport companies if you are moving expensive and rare vehicles. Choose a company that has several decades of experience, particularly classic and antique car shipping. You should also choose one with a reliable customer support team.
