I don’t know about you, but after years of Internet use, working and browsing sites all day long, I often get bored. Do you get bored? As Internet users we tend to find creative ways to kill the boredom or relieve stress. We play games, browse social networks, visit chat rooms, discussion forums, send emails, read the news and watch video clips.

I’ve found an addictive habit: Watching online TV. Right after breakfast and when I start my online workday, I log on to http://www.videowize.com/ and check out CNN News for the latest reports and stories. I also check out some of the “foreign" TV channels to see what news they are focusing on.

Internet TV is nothing new but it’s gotten better. There are literally hundreds of channels to choose from and a wide variety of programs for every person. From kids shows to mature programs.

Internet TV comes in 2 formats: downloadable software or online-based. I prefer the online based ones since most are FREE and all you need to do is bookmark the site and visit as often as you’d like. I simply set it up as my browser's “start page" so whenever I open the browser, I can view my favorite programs.

How do you enjoy Internet TV? Well, it’s a simple as clicking on a link to begin watching a program stream. However, a minimum of DSL or Cable Internet connection is highly recommended so you don’t get slow or choppy video streams.

One less common use of watching Internet TV is for learning a foreign language. For example, if you’re learning how to speak Italian, it’s a good idea to listen to native speakers. So by going to an Italian News channel, you can start to train your brain to listen to Italian sounds, accents, pronunciation, etc. You can use this process to learn any other foreign language. People learning English, for example, can easily access many U.S. based news channels and programming and learn the nuances of the English language as well.

For me, Internet TV complements video clips I watch from a few popular video repositories. I must admit, I am hooked and watching TV on my pc is now part of my daily routine.
