To classically trained psychoanalysts, possession and past life memories are notions so preposterous that they cannot even think about them.
Ignorance originates from the root word,"ignore" and has nothing whatsoever to do with professional stupidity or lack of intellect.
A child who hears "voices" is thus medicated, deemed psychotic, rather than highly psychic, by field professionals in mental health.
The first recorded example of demonic possession acceptance in society was discovered etched onto a clay tablet in Assyrian cuneiform 2800 years ago.

Read a wonderful book by Olga Hoyt, titled, "Exorcism", for evidences required to begin to open any 'trained' clinical mind closed to these possibilities.
Two amazing definitive books about demonic possession, past life recollections and clairvoyance worth reading are, "Realms of the Human Consciousness", and "Beyond the Brain", by Stan Grof, M.D., who has explored human consciousness more extensively than any other researcher and investigator.

A startling major piece of work devoted to reincarnation truths, a 1,300 page work of two-volumes that still stand as a definitive research work, by Frederic W.H.

Freud and Jung, seen as essential building blocks, put psychology back at least a hundred years.

Top-level comments on this article: (4 total)iI belong to 2 book clubs, but am thinking about dropping out because I don't get to read what I really want to read. These books sound interesting. One should always have an open mind about things that not everyone accepts. We are only in human suits and cannot possibly understand what is out there.
I am reading articles now about synchronistically - very interesting. I have experienced that but did not have a name for it.

Part of the alarming nature of the unknown is its mysterious link to the known; I awake each night to a lewd exhibition of the merging.
I open my eyes and turn to see the digital alarm clock, sitting on the lamp table next to my bed and see; 12:12, and 1:11 am, 2:22 am and 3:33 am and 4:44 am.
This distresses me so badly, upon awakening, that I cannot think; just a wave of panic that SOMETHING is awaking me, as the calculated odds of awakening each night precisely at those specific times is astronomically impossible.
The message intended seems to throw me off balance and keep me wrapped in fearful confusion and lets me know that I am being toyed with but yields no greater insight than to let me know that when I sleep I wander amongst monsters and beasties.

I subscribe to the concept of reincarnation, and that death is preparation for the next life.
The good teacher remains a good teacher first and foremost. I'm sure these are excellent books and on subject! I'm a heavy reader and I have lots of envy for people that get through the serious books instead of the thrillers or murder mysteries I like to read. It's not likely that I'll ever pick up your suggested books, but one never knows. I'm sure many years back I might have done just that, because I always wanted to know more. And if a book was recommended about a subject in which I had curiosity, I'd read it. You did the usual fine job and I find the depth of your knowledge impressive. Horse who is death reminds me of a tshirt my grandkid wears - it's a really cool haunted looking horse with the Grim Reaper on it. I'll have to look up the tshirt and send you a copy of it. Boy it would hve been cool to write a story about these two at Halloween. What a cool story with my knowledge about the horse and yours about the rider who we could have made an alien. I believe the devil use to possess some of us but I believe the devil has been put down in 1972 so no one goes to hell anymore. That's what I believe anyway.The Devil, "lived", spelled backwards, is certainly most active and Hell never ever existed except for the ones we create for ourselves.
Satan is worshipped by demonic entities who are the footmen and handymen of the Devil.
