Warts. Genital Warts. Face Warts. Body Warts. Finger Warts. Warts warts warts...
If you have warts, you are not alone. 50% of sexually active Americans will contract Genital Warts alone in their life time. Genital Warts and other skin warts are all different sub-types of HPV - the Human Papilloma Virus. If you have finger warts, you are highly unlikely to infect your genitals.
While all warts are spread via physical contact, Genital Warts are far more infectious and are sexually transmitted ONLY. However, if you have warts on your fingers, body, face, feet or anywhere non-genital, these warts can also be spread via physical contact. You can spread or get the virus from another infected area, ESPECIALLY if there is an abrasion on the non-infected skin at point of contact.
When I was young I had finger warts - only 3 - but that was enough for a 12 year old girl to stress about. One of them was very visible sticking right out from the side of my middle finger, and they were all relatively large at around half a centimetre in diameter.
At that stage (back in the days of surgery as the only option apart from the old wives tale of sticking raw meat on the wart and burying it in the garden - yeah right!) my beloved mom had my warts frozen off (cryosurgery for wart removal is still an option today). It was painful, I had big blisters, and I have the scars today. Admittedly they didn't come back, but the scars are not so great.
A friend had her warts removed via electrocautery a year or so later (burning), and she was also sore, and blistered, and is now scarred. This too remains an option for wart removal.
Other options for wart removal include applying poisons, acids or a plethora of prescription medications. Most will remove the warts initially, but in many cases those warts will regrow.
Remember the warts virus is a VIRUS - once you are infected it resides in your DNA, and outbreaks of warts can occur anytime - especially if your immune system is depleted.
BUT WAIT - all is not lost if you are squeamish (like me), don't like scarring (like me), want your money back if it doesn't work as promised (like me), want a guarantee that the same warts won't grow back (like me), then its worth reading about an alternative (I reckon anyway).
