Everyone knows that a roof is the most important part of a our house. While constructing a house, the roof installation needs a high amount of attention from the contractors and the builders. A roof is subjected to continuous weather changes and poor roof installation can lead to very high amount of damages in certain cases. Unfortunately, poor rood installation can leads to leakage problems over and over again and the repair part may cost dearly to the homeowner. However, this can be prevented in the beginning itself, thus ensuring safety at all times from damage and repair costs.

The first step you should take is to never pressure your home improvement contractor or the roofer to build the roof within a short period of time and in less money. Do not compromise on your roof installation. A good amount of time should be spent discussing your roof details and requirements.

In case, there is pressure from the homeowner to finish the roofing fast, the roofer might try to install the roof without the necessary requirements. For the most excellent results, a home owner must always point to the roofer that you are able to understand the significance of a correct judgment and don't wish to rush it.

In addition to a poor roof installation, Mother Nature can progressively harm your roof by the help of falling trees, winds and rain. Therefore, it’s always best to pay attention to the roof installation. If your roof has never leaked before, never think that the roof installation part was done nicely. The problems, which cause the roof leaks or other damages, may not show up in the first ten to fifteen years. Many times, materials in which are of degraded quality lead to leakage problems.

Apart from this, roof inspections are very necessary at every periods of time. These inspections determine the reliability of a roof, how long it may last, and when it will need to be substituted. For this purpose you can hire a roof inspector. These people have special procedures and methods to check out the viability of a structure. Roof inspectors are not going to climb up on your roof and drag up tiles. They can easily determine the life span of a roof by inspection methods.

These roof inspectors do an all-inclusive and wide ranging check up of the entire roof. While giving a particular notice to flashings, coats, and any surface areas which are damaged or can be damaged in the near future. Normally, movements in the roof cause displacement in the roof structure. This could be due to the pipes, drainage pipes, HVAC units that might be installed on the roof. Since a pressure group can in due course cause problems for the roofing system, these need to be checked seriously.

The poor roof installation or repair should be taken very seriously, so that the building is not plagued by the problems.

Our town does not have a roofing inspector. So when I contracted the Home Depot to install my roof they explained how if their roofing contractors make any mistakes the GAF inspector will not approve the roof. When the GAF inspector approved my 2ND roof I had my own profession roofing inspector find not roofing material between the shingles and the wood deck. So I sent GAF a picture and asked how they can approve my roof? A third roof was installed.

It's true, all workmanship has to be done according to GAF specifications, if not a manufactures warranty will not be issued to you until all matters are resolved. Did you have a new layer of roofing installed and did you pay again? Did you originally pay to have the roof removed and replaced?

Not true, I have a photo that shows no roofing material between the wood deck and shingles and a letter from GAF that the roof was approved! That roof was completely removed and another new roof installed and the same GAF inspector approved my third roof on my house. I have two lettes from GAF with different dates for my manufactures warranty.

According to GAF's 5 Part Roofing system, Ice & Watershield needs to be adhered to the deck along all eaves and Shinglemate underlayment fastened to the deck. If this is not done a valid manufacturers warranty will not be issued. Please go to our website and call our main office in Virginia and ask for me personally so that I may assist you further.

I agree with what you stated above. My question is why did the GAF inspector apporve my second roof with not roofing material between the shingles and wood deck? I have photos to send you or you can go to my web site freewebs com/myroof When I emailed GAF I asked if he inspected it from the driveway. And why did they send the same inspector out for the third roof?
