We are constantly looking for a new hairstyle. Where do we go to for the new looks? The Celebrities.

We often cut pictures out of magazines and present them to our hairstylists and ask, “Can you make my hair look like this?" Sadly enough, we often leave the salon looking quite different than the magazine picture we introduced to our stylist. Why is this? All of us are born with different types of hair. Some of us have wavy, curly, straight, fine, or heavy hair. A celebrity can have a certain hairstyle, that not just everyone can recreate, simply because their hair texture may be totally different than the celebrity.

However, I have found a striking hairstyle that most anyone can recreate. The Jennifer Aniston Relaxed Wavy look can be mimicked fairly easily for most hair types. If you have wavy hair, you have something in common with Ms. Aniston, and your chances of achieving her look are greater for you than others.

But fret not, even if you have straight hair, you can recreate this hairstyle using the following steps:

  1. After washing your hair, let it dry naturally over a long amount of time, or blow it dry with a blow dryer. Do not use a brush to blow your hair dry. Gently shake your hair tresses with your fingers while allowing exposure to the hot air.
  2. Once dry, take about a 1 inch width lock of hair, comb the tangles out, and spray a small amount of a thermal setting spray. There are many products available for this type of spray, but I have found that Matrix makes a product called Biolage Thermal-Active Setting Spray that works great. Then use a 1 1/2" curling iron to set the curl. Keep the iron in a vertical position. Allow the tresses to fall while gently releasing the clasp on the curling iron. Continue this technique with the rest of your hair.
  3. Once all your hair has been curled, use a silkening cream to set the curls. Matrix also produces the Biolage Curl Defining Crème, which works very well. Take the cream into your fingers and gently apply to the curls. Be sure not to pull the locks too much or run your fingers through your hair, or you will loose the defining curls and waves.
  4. If you live in a humid climate, use a little hairspray to set the style. I like the Freeze It Mega Freeze Hair Spray. This product can be found at Wal-Mart.

I have straight hair, I live in a humid climate, and I rode in a convertible car with the top down, in 95 degree weather, and was able to maintain the Jennifer Aniston look afterwards. You can too!
