How blessed are we that life changes? Believe me when I say we are more blessed because of change than we could ever have imagined we would be. It is because of the revolution; how the world around us has transformed it is now believed that we now get to live our life fifteen years younger than we really are.

Is that really possible you might ask? It is not only possible it is happening and we didn’t have to do anything about it to make it so. You have heard the rumors going around that sixty year olds are like the forty five years olds of past. And that the forty five year olds are like the thirty year olds of days gone by. Isn’t that some of the best news you have ever heard?

What I am referring to is the fact that the world has learned to accept that people are getting older but still have so much more life to live. They are seeing that at sixty people are still wanting to go out and go gambling, dancing, golfing, traveling, seeking new adventures and much more. They no longer want to start thinking of retirement and settling down in their houses behind a television or book. Sixty is a time for growing, thinking, planning and trying new things. They know they still may have twenty or thirty years ahead of them and they want to do something fun and exciting with that time.

And the forty five year olds, well they aren’t middle aged anymore. Not by how they are really perceived or how they are looked at or even how they see their own lives. Forty five is now the thirty year olds who have come into great self awareness. They are old enough to know who they are and still plenty young enough to know they can take on the world of life, business, and love. Knowing life is something to take full advantage of they are often still raising families, spending more time at work and still vacationing more than ever. They are still able to think about what career paths they want to take. Growth and learning are at the top of their lists of how they want to spend their time. They know they can still change and create their ideal lives through education, change, coaching and other tools that are readily available for them. And where once if they were forty five and alone they were considered an old maid or a grouchy old man they are now thought to be able to make choices of spending time with friends, joining groups of activities, or finding new romances. They have more choices and opportunities than ever before at that age.

Often change is thought of as something to fear, dread, or even hate. But this change has been one of the best things that have ever happened to us. This phenomenon came about because of baby boomers, the Opray Winfrey show and me. Okay the first two played a much more significant role but I didn’t want to be left out. Baby Boomers still have youth in their bones and in their thoughts. They aren’t giving into old age. Opray has showed us how gracefully we can all age and that nothing can stop us but ourselves. I promote this concept in all my trainings, coaching and writing.

Embrace your age. Love that getting older has offered you new opportunities and growth like never before. Be charged by the fact that options are so different now because of this great change that has come about. It is the best life ever! Take Charge of Your Life NOW!
