Short in the safety
beam sensor wiring

Replace wiring
to safety beam sensors to troubleshoot. Upgrade from 22 guage wiring
to 16 guage. Cold temperatures can affect the wiring and cause a short.
Lower guage wiring is thicker. Check for pinches, frays, or cuts in
the wiring that can also short the wiring. Stapling the wiring is a
common cause for shorts because it cuts through the plastic coat of
the wiring and shorts the system.

Garage
Door Opening On It's Own Tips:
- Unplug the
garage door opener when you leave for work everyday if it is opening
on its own.
- Unplug the
garage door opener when you leave for vacation.
- Do not leave
batteries in spare or defective remotes because they can short
and send signals to open the garage door.
- Do not share
your keypad access code with neighbors, if you do, change the access
code to prevent them from opening your garage door when you are
not there.
- Unplug the
garage door opener while you sleep if you are still troubleshooting
the problems of it opening on it's own. Prevents burglary while
you and your loved ones are sleeping. Prevents pets from escaping.
- Add a Heavy
Duty Appliance Module to control the electrical outlet by remote
before using the actual remote for the garage door opener as an
added layer of security to the biggest door of your house. (See
X10 PRO Tip)
